When we imagine pictures from beginning of the XXth century we not often think of colorful photos. To break this stereotype, I wish to share with you these pictures I came across earlier today. It is work of Mervyn O'Goreman from 1913 picturing of his daughter, Christina. What is special about these images is the usage of autochrome process that enabled colors in it, but not only technology implemented by Lumiere brothers made it unique. The final effect would not be as extraordinary without author's sense of color. Red elements such as dress, shirt or hood are giving an amazing touch of life to this pictures. The result of it is fresh, young and timeless and 100 years after we still can relate to it. xoxo Anja.
